To Members of the Band, members of the Intro to music class, and their parents,
The annual Christmas concert is on Friday December 12, 2008. The concert begins at 7pm. The members of the band and the members of the introduction to music classes are required to perform at the concert as their mid-term exam grade. In the case of the Introduction to music students this counts as your final exam in the course. The concert consists of musical selections from the band, the vocal arts ensemble and the introduction to music classes in a mens choir.
The members of the band are required to be at Stepinac no later than 5:45 pm on Friday December 12. We will begin tuning the group at 6:10pm sharp. This will give everyone an adequate amount of time to warm your instrument. The dress for the concert is standard concert dress black. This means a tuxedo or mock tuxedo consisting of a black jacket, pants, shoes, socks and bow tie with a white shirt. Please make sure that you have your own bow tie, they can be purchased usually for around $5.00 at a tuxedo store or many men’s clothing stores.
The members of the introduction to music class will perform three (3) songs as a men’s choir at the concert. The dress for the event will consist of the standard school dress code with a long sleeved white shirt. Please wear a solid color tie in preferably red or a green. The members of the Introduction to music class will report to Stepinac no later than 6:30pm on the night of December 12. They will report to the music classroom and attendance will be taken by Mr. Portanova, Mr. Sunderland and Mr. Moran.
The concert should last approximately an hour and when you are finished performing your part of the concert you should return to the audience in the auditorium quietly and watch the remainder of the concert.
If there are any concerns please feel free to contact me either in school or via e-mail at jmoran@stepinac.org .
Thank You
