Stepinac Admissions Policies


ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES FOR 8TH GRADE STUDENTS ATTENDING CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:
Students in 8th grade who attend a Catholic elementary school apply by taking the TACHS exam. Stepinac's TACHS code is 122.


ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES FOR 8TH GRADE STUDENTS ATTENDING PUBLIC, PRIVATE OR NON-DIOCESAN SCHOOLS:
Students in 8th grade are encouraged to take the TACHS exam. This exam is administered by THE ARCHDIOCESE OF NEW YORK in early November. For information visit WWW.TACHSINFO.COM.

If for any reason an 8th grade student does not take the TACHS exam, they may apply directly to the DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS at Stepinac High School. They are required to submit an application, a recommendation form from a Guidance counselor, a copy of their 7th and 8th grade report cards and pay a $50 application fee.


ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS:
Students wishing to transfer from another high school may apply directly to the DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS at Stepinac High School. They are required to submit an application, a recommendation form from a Guidance counselor and copies of their high school report card(s).


SPORTS ELIBILITY FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS:
A transfer student who has played on a team in their previous school during the year prior to the transfer is NOT ELIGIBLE to play that sport at Stepinac for ONE season. They are eligible to play any other sport at Stepinac upon acceptance to the school.
